Climate NOW

In 2019 Sarah founded Climate NOW as a way to bring the youth climate movement to her local community. Climate NOW is a youth-led organization dedicated to educating youth about the climate crisis and providing them with the skills to take community based action. Sarah has spoken with thousands of students about Climate NOW’s mission and the importance of climate action and education.

Born This Way Foundation

In 2021 Sarah joined the Born This Way Foundation as a teen advisory board member.

“We received over 500 applications from around the world – from every continent except for Antarctica – and selected a highly thoughtful collective of aspirational and engaged youth who are making meaningful impacts in their communities around the globe. For the next 12 months, this group of Advisors will play a pivotal role in the planning and execution of programs, campaigns, and projects core to the Foundation’s mission: (1) making kindness cool, (2) validating the emotions of young people everywhere, and (3) eliminating the stigma surrounding mental health. “

Broadway Speaks Up

Sarah founded Broadway Speaks Up, an instagram page created in response to the global climate crisis. Broadway Speaks Up is a platform for Broadway performers to share their thoughts on the climate crisis and promote sustainable solutions. Broadway Speaks Up has been supported by actors from productions such as Wicked, Something Rotten, Jagged Little Pill, The Carole King Musical, Phantom of the Opera, and Come From Away.

Greening Forward

In the fall of 2018 Sarah joined Greening Forward’s team as a Youth Council Member, and later was promoted to Youth Council Liaison in 2019. Greening Forward is a youth-led organization focused on environmental issues. As the Youth Council Liaison, Sarah oversees the Youth Council which is made up of 6 students from across the United States. In both 2019 and 2020, Sarah joined Greening Forward’s team in New York as one of the leaders of Greening Forward’s environmental summits for New York Public School Students.

Corte Madera Climate Committee

Sarah is the Chair of the Corte Madera Climate Action Committee. The Committee was formed after a testimony from Sarah to the Town Board asking for increased climate action from the town. Sarah is in charge of the Committees 15 adult members and corresponding engagement with the town and the committee. Because of the Committee, Corte Madera has passed a Climate Emergency Resolution, put in place a Climate Action Plan and is working towards carbon neutrality.

National Childrens Campaign

Sarah works as campaign director for the National Childrens Campaign initiative ‘Tomorrow There Will be More of Us’. National Childrens Campaign is a national, nonpartisan, nonprofit organization that serves as a catalyst to inspire and empower America to make children a priority by promoting health, education, safety, economic and environmental security.

Youth Vs. Apocalypse

Sarah worked with Youth vs. Apocalypse as a lead circle member in 2019, where she was part of the leadership team that oversees the organization and works on campaigns and events. Youth Vs. Apocalypse is a diverse group of young climate justice activists working together to lift the voices of youth, in particular, youth of color, and fight for a livable climate and an equitable, sustainable, and just world. Youth Vs. Apocalypse organizes events and protests to get young people involved in climate justice action and to pressure politicians to make environmentally and socially conscience policy decisions.
